This role is responsible for the preparation, review and explanation of month end performance; delivery of the annual planning cycle; forecasting full year delivery for Costs and working with key functional business partners to identify and mitigate risk to the plan.
This role acts as the glue in the Cost team, being the person who builds and maintains cost models, both for actuals and plan, and acts as the contact point for group level interactions on costs.
Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to;
- Plays a key part in the month end close for Costs for the European Business, ensuring functional Costs are appropriately controlled, reported upon and understood by business stakeholders.
- Working with business stakeholders to understand their management information requirements, provide robust and regular reporting to understand performance and track the impact of business changes.
- Play a lead role in budget and reforecast process for key functional areas in the business, understanding key business risks and opportunities and challenging stakeholders appropriately to mitigate risks and deliver opportunities to the plan.
- Develop forecasting of full year outturn for key functional areas, highlighting risks and opportunities and supporting stakeholders in quantifying the impacts of these, as well as challenging on mitigation or over delivery respectively.
The ideal candidate will have the following skills, knowledge and expertise;
- Has a Finance Qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Extensive PQE experience of operational finance (month end / financial control), financial planning and business partnering (FP&A)
- Has a desire to understand, challenge, improve and simplify
- Has a positive, can-do attitude, works on own initiative
- Is adaptable, can navigate ambiguity and help others do the same
